What is this Course?

We have been providing FE1 exam preparation courses since 2007 and have an excellent track record in supporting our students to prize-winning success and impressive results with their Law Society of Ireland’s FE1 examinations.

All lectures are entirely focused on examinations, with particular attention paid to the approaches and techniques needed to pass the entrance exams.

Our FE1 lecturing team has a wealth of practical and academic experience. Our lecturers have been carefully selected for their ability to clearly and concisely deliver the key points of the syllabus of the FE1 examinations.

Students have the option of studying in class or online. Lectures are live-streamed and recorded, with all lectures available via our Moodle (VLE) platform, where students can view and re-watch them in the comfort of their homes, or on their daily commute to work.

Every year, we invest significantly in keeping our FE1 Manuals up to date.

We understand the value that our students gain from having the latest material to hand. Our Manuals have gained a reputation as being the most up-to-date and course-specific material available. Each Manual has been prepared by our lecturing team, who have a unique insight into how to best prepare students for law examinations.

Each FE1 Manual is laid out in a student-friendly style, incorporating a special exam tips section. All students are provided with sample suggested solutions to past examination papers.

With each subject, students are provided with:

  • 15 x weekly 2-hour lectures
  • One 2-hour Exam Revision Masterclass (Week 16)
  • Each lecture and accompanying teaching materials are available online until the end of each examination period
  • A hard copy of the updated Manual in each subject
  • A copy of past examination papers and reports
  • Past examination paper grids
  • Suggested solutions to past examination questions
  • Homework correction facility weekly, with detailed feedback provided
  • Lecturer support

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT FACILITY

Students may avail of our homework facility, where they are welcome to attempt answers to past examination questions. Detailed and individualised feedback is provided by our expert lecturing team.

Homework is submitted online via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) platform, Moodle.

Nadia Bhatti is the Head of Law & Professional Legal Studies at Independent College. As one of the most experienced FE1 lecturers in the country, Nadia has an extensive understanding of exam topics, exam trends, as well as common exam pitfalls. Nadia has over twelve years’ experience as a lecturer-in-law, lecturing also in Employment Law, Criminal Law, Administrative Law and Land Law and Conveyancing.

Glenn Lynch

Glenn Lynch is a practising Barrister, specialising in the areas of Judicial Review, Criminal defence, Employment Law, Coronial law, Probate and Personal injuries. Glenn has completed a Master of Laws at Trinity College Dublin and the Barrister-at-Law degree at the Kings Inns. Glenn possesses a multidisciplinary background by way of a Master’s in Education and a degree in English literature from DCU, as well as a degree in Physical and Social Geography from Maynooth College. Glenn has a wealth of experience as a lecturer in law, having previously lectured in Dublin Business School, Technology University Dublin and the Institute of Business and Technology (IBAT).

Glenn currently teaches Property Law and Equity & Trusts on the FE1 Exam Preparatory course.

Aislinn delivers Contract Law on the FE-1 Preparatory course and has previously taught Criminal and Tort law.
