Independent College is located in The Steelworks complex on Foley Street in the heart of Dublin’s city centre. The Steelworks is a new complex, comprised of private residential, commercial offices and our college campus.
The building has natural light throughout that provides a bright and airy environment conducive for study and learning. We have equipped the college with the necessary facilities to help give you the best support for your class and study time, including modern classrooms with the latest technology, group breakout areas and a student common room. Wi-Fi and charging points are available throughout the building.
Computer Lab
The Computer Lab provides a modern environment for you to work and learn. The computer hardware is reviewed and upgraded on an annual basis. The chairs are ergonomic, providing you with a comfortable space to get your projects and research completed. We have the latest version Microsoft Office installed on each PC.
Library
The library is located on the 2nd Floor of the college and is available to all of our full-time and part-time students. The library has generous opening hours, extended around examination times. While the library remains the hub of research resources and services, there is online access throughout the building via the College Wi-Fi network, as well as from external locations. Registered students can access the subscribed College databases from work and home.
Rooftop Restaurant
Located on the top floor of the building is our rooftop restaurant – The Pinnace Cafe. The restaurant provides coffee, snacks and hot and cold food and is a hive of activity at key points throughout the day. It is the centre of many college events throughout the year and is a large part of the college atmosphere. Some of the events include food festivals, holiday celebrations, sporting events, music gigs, student evenings and charity fund raisers.
The restaurant opens to a viewing terrace allowing students and staff enjoy the spectacular rooftop landscape Dublin has to offer.
Silicon Docks
We claim Silicon Docks as an extension of our campus. A hub of Dublin’s city centre, buzzing with activity shared with professionals, residents and students alike. The docklands are a five-minute walk from our college and many of our staff and students enjoy a walk along the quays for some fresh air.
Moodle
Moodle is our online platform and an e-learning resource for our students. Once your registration is complete, you will receive log-in details for your Moodle account. Moodle is used by lecturers, students and the administration team to keep you informed on everything you need to know during your time at Independent College. Students use Moodle to submit assignments and access lecture notes and presentations, amongst many other features.
